Diane Sivavec was born in western Pennsylvania and received her formal education at Syracuse University's School of Visual and Performing Arts. While there she fell in love with the work of the American impressionist and realist of the 1900s and began what turned out to be a lifelong dedication to the fine art of painting. Today one can see in her work the skill she has mastered . . . that evasive and ever magical look of the effortless hand. She is able to interpret a wide variety of subjects including landscapes and figures, indeed there seems to be no subject she cannot bring to life. Her uncanny ability to paint portraits, to capture a likeness, the very spirit of her subject, is unsurpassed. Her career, her phenomenal accomplishments continue to inspire those around her, but through it all Diane remains modest and unassuming, forever in pursuit of a better painting.
